The automated micropaleontology platform – Manta – is dedicated to the characterization and recognition of environmental and stratigraphic indicators in sediments and the subsurface.

Our main applications include:

• the study of paleoenvironments and paleoclimates
• biostratigraphy for subsurface exploration
• bioindication of environments
• sorting of microparticles

The last three applications are directly marketable to companies and local authorities. The platform is integrated into the Climate team at CEREGE.

This platform is the result of developments at CEREGE carried out within projects primarily funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR), the A*MIDEX foundation, and projects conducted in collaboration with industrial partners (Total & ATG Technologies).
